Join us for a free event at the Louisiana Old Governor's Mansion, From Retro to Robots, celebrating the intersection of arts, history, and engineering at one of Louisiana's most iconic landmarks! This one of a kind program is presented in partnership with the LSU College of Engineering's Department of Construction Management, blending the charm of the past with the innovation of the future; from vintage telephones and typewriters to robots, robotic arms, virtual reality, and beyond!
For the first time ever, hear the voice of Governor Huey Long echo through the very halls he built — brought to life by one of our touring robots in a truly unforgettable experience! Plus, explore the Mansion in VR, take home a 3D printed souvenir, get hands-on with mini construction equipment, and so much more.
This is history and the future colliding in the most spectacular way, and YOU don't want to miss it!

LA Orphan Trains
Discover one of America's most forgotten chapters in history this August! Join the Old Governor's Mansion for a special presentation by the Louisiana Orphan Train Museum.
From 1873 to 1929, thousands of abandoned children traveled from New York to many towns in Louisiana in search of a new life. This moving presentation brings their remarkable stories of hope and hardship to light. Hear their story in the very heart of Louisiana's White House. The evening will feature a presentation by Martha Aubert, President of the Louisiana Orphan Train Society and granddaughter of Louisiana orphan train rider Emily Kingsley Bergeron Von Bodungen, and James Douget, Board Member of the Louisiana Orphan Train Society and nephew of Louisiana orphan train riders Christina Geitz Douget West and Dominic Yenley Douget both of whom bring a deeply personal connection to this remarkable history. The Louisiana Orphan Train Museum will have artifacts on display, and a reception will follow the presentation.
